Dadafon

The text below is an extract from the band's homepage.

DADAFON was formerly known as Coloured Moods. The band has performed at several festivals and tours in Europe and has been met by a marvellous reception from the public and press.

DADAFON performs low-tech mixmaster-pop. Melodic songs within a powerful, rusty universe of ironmongery and mail boxes. Kristin Asbjørnsen's vocal style spans from gentle, spiritualised croons to insistent, fiercely assertive outbursts, and she is energetically accompanied by a guitar player, two groove machinists and perhaps a dadaphonic cello...

The DADAFON songs are hardswinging groove and soft ballads in industrial wrapping, with references to artists like Tom Waits, Talking Heads, Brian Eno and African music.

The musicians have their background from ensembles like e.g.: Krøyt, Siris Svale Band, Warne Marsh, Kvitretten, Circulasione Totale, Cirka Teater, Petrusjka Teater, Adamseplene, Iren Reppen. They have together with their different ensembles performed at most of the Norwegian music festivals as well as festivals and tours in the Nordic countries, the United States, Germany and South Africa.
