KRØYT was founded in 1993 and has toured extensively in the nordic countries as well as playing festivals in Germany, France and USA. KRØYT is always searching new territories, and at the Molde Jazzfestival 2001 KRØYT entered the stage accompagnied by the sweedish string-pioneers "Fleshquartet" who recently contributed to the "Anne Sofie von Otter Meets Elvis Costello"-Album. KRØYT released their second album,LOW, in 1999 on the bp label in Norway. The album includes the MTV-rotated single "Shall I Forget?". "LOW" was met with excellent reviews, and it also won an Norwegian Grammy award (Spellemannprisen) in 1999. Krøyt then released the EP Body Electric (MNW) in february 2001, which included the "Edvard-award"-winning song SILENT. Musically, the band members have gained their experience from settings as various as Rokia Traure, Kvitretten, Erlend Skomsvoll, Motorpsycho, Dingobats, Dadafon, Spacebopcircus, Tre Små Kinesere, and Brazz Bros.
